• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本研究では，日常生活で使用可能なオブジェクトを描くように生成できるハンドヘルド型デバイス「スクリブラ」を提案する．スクリブラは温度によって剛性を変化させる棒状の「チューブ」，および加熱・冷却機構，打ち出し機構を備えた「チューブガン」によって構成される．チューブは目の粗い綿に熱可塑性樹脂を施したものを筒状に丸めたものであり，中空にすることで剛性と熱応答性，加熱時の柔軟性を実現した．これによりユーザは特別な訓練を経ずともチューブの剛性を自由に変えながらモデリングを行うことができ，パイロットテストではカメラを気に吊るす作品や壁掛けのフックなどといった実用的なモデルが造られた．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In this research, we propose “Scribbler”, a hand-held device that aids the fabrication of practical tangible artifacts. Scribbler consists of Scribbler tubes and a Scribbler tube gun. Scribber tubes are hard hollow tubes with temperature dependant rigidity, and the Scribbler tube gun is a device that modifies the rigidity of the Scribbler tubes by controlling its temperature. Pilot tests showed users being able to fabricate practical artifacts such as a camera holder that can hang in trees, a holder to carry stacked glass cups, accessories for bags and hooks to hang cups from.
