• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: ポストスクリプトは弓肋なグラフィック機能を備えたプログラミング言語である。この言語のもっとも適した用途は、テキスト、グラフィック、イメージの紙やディスプレイに出力されるページ上への配置を記述することである。1985年に登場して以来、プログラミング機能、効率や柔軟性のために、数多くの拡張をへてきた。基本的にこれらの拡張は、ポストスクリプトのイメージングモデルを新しいイメージング技術やシステム環境に適合させるために行なわれた。昨年アドビ システムズ社はポストスクリプト レベル2を発表。レベル2ではかつての拡張機能の統合と共にいくつかの新機能を搭載している。ここではレベル2の概要について述べる。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: The PostScript is a programming language with powerful graphics capabilities. It primary application is to describe the appearance of text, graphical shapes, and sampled images on printed or displayed pages. Since its introduction in 1985, the PostScript language has been considerably extended for programming power, efficiency, and flexibility. Typically, these language extensions were a result of adapting the PostScript imaging model to new imaging technologies or system environments. Last year, Adobe Systems Inc. announced PostScript Level 2. In addition to unifying all previous language extensions, Level 2 introduces a number of new language features. This article describe overview of PostScript Level 2.
