• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: プライバシーポリシーは，サービス事業者がユーザのデータの取扱いについて法的に説明した文書であり，ユーザが自身のプライバシーを検討・保護するうえで重要な役割を果たす．しかし，プライバシーポリシーに記載されたデータの取扱いについてユーザが誤解している場合には，ユーザの望まないデータの取扱いにつながる可能性がある．そのようなユーザの誤解を生じさせうる原因として，我々は，プライバシーポリシーに使用される技術用語に対する誤解，個人情報保護法に対する誤った期待，およびプライバシーポリシーの読み方の慣習の3つに着目し，これら3つの観点についての日本のユーザの認識と反応を調査するためのアンケート調査を実施した（N=362）．その結果，参加者に定義を尋ねた16個の技術用語のうち正答率が50%を超える用語は存在しないことや，プライバシーポリシーにおける技術用語の使用が日本のユーザの同意可能性に有意に影響することが明らかになった．また，個人情報保護法に対しても誤った期待を持つ参加者や，プライバシーポリシーを読まない参加者が多いことを示した．これらの結果をふまえ，サービス事業者や専門家がユーザの誤解を防ぐために実施すべき対策について議論する．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Service providers must legally explain data processing of user data in privacy policies, which are crucial for users to consider and safeguard their own privacy. However, if users misinterpret the data processing described in privacy policies, it could lead to unexpected data processing. This study examines three potential causes of user misunderstandings: misunderstanding of technical terms, false expectations of the privacy protection law, and reading styles of privacy policies. We conducted an online survey with 362 Japanese users to investigate their perceptions and behaviors regarding the aforementioned three perspectives. We found that none of the 16 technical terms were defined correctly by more than half of the participants. Moreover, we also found that the utilization of technical terms in privacy policies significantly affected user acceptance rate. Furthermore, we showed that many participants harbored misconceptions about the law and were inclined not to read privacy policies. Based on our findings, we provide recommendations to service providers to mitigate users' misconceptions.
