本稿は，パプアニューギニア各地の民間伝承を対象としたテキストマイニングによって，動物カテゴリーの名称（または種名）を抽出し，各地域の民間伝承にどのような動物が登場するのかという地域的特徴を明らかにするものである．本稿では，対象文献の傾向を把握することを目的として，上記文献に収録された民間伝承数の 1 割にあたる 141 話を対象に分析した結果を報告する． |

This study aims to extract the names (or species names) of animals from folk tales collected from various regions of Papua New Guinea through text mining, with the goal of revealing the regional characteristics of animals appearing in folk tales. In this paper, we report the results of analyzing 141 tales, which account for 10% of the folk tales included in the target literature, with the purpose of understanding the tendencies of the literature. |
