本研究は，知識，所有，生体情報に次ぐ新たな認証方式として，周辺実世界の特徴を基礎とする新たな認証フレームワーク--- WorldAuth --- を提案する．WorldAuthの狙いは既存の認証技術を置き換えることではなく，適用範囲を拡張することである．WorldAuthは，個人やモノなど，認証の対象に紐づくプライベートな空間（例えば自室の机周辺や，倉庫内や実験室など）における特有な空間情報をLiDARなどのセンサで3D点群データとして取得し，その特徴に基づいた認証を行う方式である．本論文では，WorldAuthフレームワークの有効性を示すために，iPhone に搭載されたLiDARセンサを用いた個人認証方式を実装し，その性能を評価する．実装した認証方式は点群の位置合わせに基づくテンプレートマッチングであり，実装が簡易であるのが利点である．実験においては，空間情報の変化に対する頑健性を評価する．また，認証方式にかかるユーザビリティの評価，およびWorldAuthの有望なユースケースについて議論する． |

This study introduces a novel authentication framework, WorldAuth, which leverages features of the ambient real-world as a unique method of authentication, augmenting traditional paradigms such as knowledge, possession, and biometrics. The primary intent of this research is to expand the horizons of authentication technologies. The WorldAuth framework works by capturing the intrinsic spatial characteristics of private spaces associated with an individual or object, such as the vicinity of a personal desk or areas within warehouses and laboratories. These spatial characteristics are represented as 3D point cloud data collected using sensors such as LiDAR or stereo cameras. To demonstrate the effectiveness of WorldAuth, we implemented a personal authentication method using the LiDAR sensor built into iPhones and evaluated its performance. This approach relies on template matching based on point cloud alignment, emphasizing its simplicity. Our experiments assess the robustness to variations in spatial information, and we further discuss the user experience associated with our method and the promising use cases for the WorldAuth. |
