学校教育におけるタブレット端末や PC 利用の普及に伴い，児童がパスワードを利用する機会が増加している．その一方で，児童がどのようにパスワードを作成・管理しているのかの実態は明らかではない．本研究では，2019 年に発表された Choong らの研究 [1] の追試，および拡張した調査を行い，日米の児童間でパスワードに関する知識・行動にどのような差異が見られるのかを調査した．その結果，日米の児童でパスワードを構成する文字の種類に顕著な差が見られたこと，日本の児童は米国の児童と比較して，強度が高いパスワードを作る割合が高いことが判明した．また，日本の児童がパスワードを作成・管理する際に保護者が大きな役割を果たしていることを示した． |

With the spread of the use of tablet devices and PCs in school education, the opportunities for children to use passwords are increasingly becoming common. On the other hand, it is not clear how children create and manage their passwords. In this study, we replicate and expand the study conducted by Choong et al. [1] published in 2019 and study the differences in the knowledge and behavior regarding passwords between children in Japan and US. As the result, we found that there is a remarkable difference in the type of the character which constitutes the password between the children in Japan and US, and that Japanese children tend to create stronger passwords than US children. the proportion which We also found that in Japan, parents played a vital role in creating and managing the passwords of children. |
