内容記述 Web APIs widely employ OAuth access tokens, yet theft and relay attacks remain practical threats. Sender-constrained tokens (e.g., Demonstration of Proof-of-Possession; DPoP) and audience restriction help, but a resource server (RS) cannot immediately verify―without querying the authorization server (AS)―that a token was presented by its legitimate user. FIDO/WebAuthn provides strong public-key-based authentication, yet its assurance remains confined to the AS. We propose Proof-Carrying Access Tokens (PCAT), a cryptographic profile in which the AS issues a short-lived, PII (Personally Identifiable Information)-free signed attestation (Key-Bound Statement; KBS) and cryptographically binds it to the access token (AT) and the client key (DPoP). The RS verifies in the order DPoP, AT, and KBS in sequence and locally enforces three-way binding of key, audience, and the minimal authentication-assurance claim, enabling query-independent acceptance. Using a minimal ProVerif model, we confirm the key-consistency and audience-consistency invariants at acceptance and the secrecy of the AS signing key.
