• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 対面会話では，うなずきは相手への理解や関心を示す非言語行動として重要な役割を果たすとされている．一方で，視覚情報が共有されない電話環境において，うなずきがどの程度見られるのかは十分に明らかにされていない．そこで本研究では，電話環境におけるうなずき行動の実態を明らかにすることを目的とした．今回の調査では，同室で対話する対面条件と，別室で携帯電話を介して会話する電話条件を設定し，会話中のうなずき頻度，発話量，主観評価を比較調査した．その結果，電話条件では対面条件と比較してうなずきの総数および頻度が減少することが確認された．また，あいづち無うなずきは大きく減少する一方で，あいづち有うなずきは比較的維持される傾向が見られた．これらの結果から，うなずきは対話相手への視覚的フィードバックとしての機能に加え，聞き手の理解や情報処理に伴う身体的反応としての側面も有する可能性が示唆された．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In face-to-face conversations, head nodding is considered to play an important role as a nonverbal behavior that indicates understanding and interest toward the interlocutor. However, it remains unclear to what extent head nodding occurs in telephone conversations, where visual information is not shared. Therefore, this study aimed to clarify the characteristics of head-nodding behavior in telephone communication. In this study, two conditions were established: a face-to-face condition in which participants conversed in the same room and a telephone condition in which participants communicated via mobile phones from separate rooms. The frequency of head nodding, amount of speech, and subjective evaluations during the conversations were compared between the two conditions. The results showed that both the total number and frequency of head nods decreased in the telephone condition compared with the face-to-face condition. Furthermore, nods without accompanying backchannels decreased substantially, whereas nods accompanied by backchannels tended to be relatively maintained. These findings suggest that head nodding functions not only as a visual feedback signal for the interlocutor but also as a bodily response associated with the listener's comprehension and information processing.
