This paper introduces a new authentication method based on handwriting. To use this system, a user first needs to draw several digits they set as a password. As the user makes use of her / his handwriting digits, rather than tapping PIN code, which is vulnerable to shoulder surfing attack, PINWrite can provide better security. We note that by combining with the behavioral biometrics such as finger movement, it can work as an additional authentication factor. As users are already familiar with the traditional PIN code authentication mechanism, they need less effort to learn our system. To evaluate the usability and security of our system, we collect some samples from the pilot study and calculate the error rate to show how it works to defend the different attack such as the PIN attack and imitation attack. |
