The mobile backhaul and fronthaul are capable of deploying the LTE cells at the indoor location. Since its link topology is based on the point-to-point, the handover process must be activated whenever the mobile user moves across the cell. As for the indoor LTE system, the number of handover is further increased than outdoor location because of the limitation of transmitting power of the indoor equipment. In this paper, the centralized radio access network (C-RAN) with analog Radio over Fiber (RoF) incorporated with optical matrix switch is introduced instead of the conventional point-to-point link. Simulation results show that our proposal reduces the number of handover by 16.62% and 38.27% compared with point-to-point connection in the cases of high resource usage and low resource usage, respectively. |
