• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: インタフェースソフトウェアの設計レビューを支援するために、通信システムの設計に有効な約300項目の設計ガイドラインを開発した。さらに、このガイドラインへのアクセスを迅速化するため、ブックメタファインタフェースを用いた設計ガイドラインのデータベースを開発した。ソフト設計支援のように、人が主体となる作業を支援するコンピュータを実現するには、作業に適した情報をデザインし、その情報をユーザが容易にアクセスできるインタフェースをデザインすることが重要である。本報告では、設計ガイドライン「情報」と、ブックメタファ「インタフェース」による支援ツールの有効性を、設計レビュー実験により評価する。その結果、ガイドラインが設計レビューの質を向上させ、ブックメタファが作業効率を促進させることが明かになつた。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: A design guideline database of approximately 300 guidelines, called GuideBook, is developed to support interface design review tasks. GuideBook employs the book metaphor interface to the design guideline information. Research is conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the guideline information and the book metaphor interface used in the GuideBook. The participants, software designers, are asked to perform an experimental design review task. They are provided with a representative bad interface design, on a piece of paper, and instructed to improve the design through (1) the use of the book metaphor, (2) the actual guideline book, or (3) no use or the guideline information. Experimental results show that the guideline 'information' is more effective in supporting design review, and the book metaphor 'interface' is slightly superior in terms of shorter task completion time.
