• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 声調言語では声調の型が複数あり、1音節に1つの声調が付与される。これらの型については言語内で研究が行われてきたが、声調としての共通の特徴について検討するような横断的な研究は行われてこなかった。本研究では音響特徴量である基本周波数を抽出し、この情報を共通の手段としてタイ語と中国語の声調について検討した。その結果、1つの声調の型ごとに、かなり一定したピッチカーブの形があることがわかった。しかし一方、例えば「下降」と記述される声調のパタンがピッチカーブの形では中国語とタイ語とで異なっており、声調が言語内で果たす役割が異なっている可能性や、音節構造の違いなども考慮しなければならないことを示唆している。今後は、三つ目の声調言語として、ビルマ語のデータを加えて検討することと、分析再合成音を用いて聴取実験を行い、ピッチカーブの観察結果をさらに検証する予定である。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Most of the analyses of tones so far have been done within a framework of one language, however few have been done cross-linguistically; ones that deal with common features found in some languages. This study examines the tones of Thai and Chinese by means of extracting and comparing fundamental frequency of their syllables. As a result, a stable pattern is found for each tone as shown in figures in this paper. pitch patterns for so called "Falling" tone, however, differ between the two languages, which suggests that there might be differences in the role which the tone plays in the languages. Also differences in the syllable structure should be taken account of for further researches. An examination likewise is now being planned concerning Burmese. Successively, hearing examination using synthesized sound is in preparation.
