| 内容記述 | 1998年6月にマレーシア・クアラルンプール市で開催された、デジタル映像配信技術の国際標準化フォーラムDAVIC (Digital Audio-Visual Council)の第21回総会について、その模様と最新の動きについて報告する。クアラルンプールでは、前回ミラノ会合で提案受付とプレゼンテーションが行なわれた57件の技術提案に基づいて、『宅内蓄積利用映像システム』や『DAVICイントラネット』の標準化技術課題審議が本格的に始まった。また、これら新しい課題への取組みに合わせ、これまで6委員会で構成されていた技術委員会を本会合から3委員会に整理統合した。更に、第4代のDAVICプレジデントとして英国BT社のMike Carr氏が新たに就任した。クアラルンプール会合では、DAVIC仕様の第5版となるDAVIC1.4 CD-ROMに入る最終文書の作成作業も同時に進められ承認された。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | This article reports the activities and discussions made at the 21^<th> DAVIC Kuala Lumpur meeting in June, 1998. DAVIC is the international standardization forum for interactive digital-video networking and delivery services and systems. Based on 57 responses for the CFP11 received and presented at the previous Milan meeting, technical discussions on how to accomplish the standards for "Local (In-home) Storage Based Systems" and "DAVIC Intranet" have started in Kuala Lumpur and the results were summarized in respective baseline documents produced during the meeting. Re-Organization of the Technical Committee (TC) has been made at the beginning of the meeting from 6 TCs to 3 new TCs. The new president of DAVIC for 1998-1999 was nominated and approved by the general assemble to be Mr. Mike Carr from BT,UK. The final texts to be published in the DAVIC1.4 CD-ROM-to be published in September-have been completed and approved. | |||||||
