• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 携帯情報機器の操作では，画面が小さい，画面を注視できない，片手しか使えない場合もあるなどの様々な制約がある．そのため，このような環境でハイパーメディア・ブラウジングを快適に行なうためには，入力デバイスも含めた操作方式に対する工夫が必要となる．本稿ではまず従来の操作方式について述べ，携帯環境への適用可能性について比較検討を行なう．次に，これらを考慮した新しい入力デバイスである「ScrollPoint」を紹介する．このデバイスにより，文書の任意速度の「スクロール」とハイパーリンクの素早く的確な「指示選択」という2種類の基本操作が指一本で可能となる．本稿ではさらに，試作したプロトタイプの構造と，それを用いた評価実験の結果についても報告する．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: A mobile computing environment imposes various restrictions on users, and some new operation method must be developed for comfortable hypermedia browsing. Several existing methods are first introduced and compared from the viewpoint of their applicability in a mobile environment. A new input device for such an environment, named ScrollPoint, is then introduced. With just one finger, a user can "scroll" a document in an arbitrary direction at an arbitrary speed, and can quickly and accurately "point" to a clickable point. The. paper also shows the structure of a prototype and gives the results of an evaluation of the prototype.
