内容記述 | This paper presents an improved method for motion field coding in an ongoing standard of 3D dynamic mesh compression, referred to as V-DMC, whose effectiveness directly depends on the number of MVs. Our method can significantly reduce the number of motion vectors (MVs) based on the facts that there are some duplicated vertices in the reconstructed decimated meshes and the MVs of those duplicated vertices are exactly the same in most cases. Therefore, we improve the coding performance of those duplicated vertices with the same MVs by integrating the duplicated vertices. The experimental results on the MPEG test sequences demonstrate that our method can reduce the data size of MVs by a maximum of 20% without any degradation of the reconstructed meshes. | |||||||||
