心理学の分野で，類似性判断や良さ判断のようなパターンに関する異質な認知判断を統一的に説明しようとする学説に変換構造説がある。変換構造説によれば，認知系は提示されたパターンに対していくつかの変換（認知的変換）を施し，そこで示される相互変換性または不変性によってその構造（変換構造）を認知し，この変換構造に基づいて認知判断を行う。この論文では，白黒の楕円を横に並べた1次元楕円パターン（線形2値パターン）を対象に，変換群を認知的変換の単位として，変換群構造説を構成し，その妥当性を実験的に検証する。具体的には，恒等変換群，鏡映変換群，位相変換群，反転変換群という4種の認知的変換群による相互変換可能性によってパターン対の変換群構造を定義し，拡張された順序整合性の仮説と順序保存の仮説で類似度の順序関係を予測する。最終的な順序関係はハッセ図で表現される。実験と検定の結果はこのモデルの妥当性を支持している。 |

The transformational structure theory systematically explains how different types of cognitive judgments of patterns such as similarity and goodness are performed, and predicts their ordinal relations by the concepts of cognitive tranformations and transformational structures. In this paper we propose a mathematical model of similarity judgments of linear binary patterns based on the transformation groups. Transformational group structures of pattern pairs are first defined by the four cognitive transformation groups, i.e., the identity, mirror-image, phase and reversal transformation groups, and then their orders of similarity are predicted by the structures. The final results are expressed by a Hasse diagram. Typical experiments and tests show the validity of the model. |
