• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 絵画に描かれた物、人物などの形を数量的に分析した研究は少ない。この小論では、浮世絵師の東洲斎写楽と歌川豊国の描いた歌舞伎役者の顔の形状を数量的な観点から比較分析し、二人の顔の描き方の差異を明らかにすることで、東洲斎写楽と歌川豊国が同一人物である可能性は少ないことを示す。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: There are few researches on analyzing the shape of objects or figures in paintings with a quantitative method. This paper focuses on comparing different patterns of shapes of Kabuki actor faces drawn by two representative Japanese painters, Syaraku and Toyokuni, based on a statistical approach. The results derived from principle component analysis of measurement data have revealed the main differences in drawing techniques between two painters' works, and also led a conclusion that Syaraku and Toyokuni should be different painters.
