• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本研究ではユーザの視点に基づいたネットワークの性能評価の基準を提案する。ユーザが最も良く使うアプリケーションとして、WWWサービスを選び、測定対象となるネットワークから複数の地理的に分散されたURLに対するアクセス時間を測定し、それに基づく総合的なネットワークの性能評価の基準を定める。その際に、時間およびネットワークの場所による性能の変化を考慮する。ユーザの視点に基づいた際に最も重要となるデータ転送時間を評価基準とし、これを"UPM: User-Oriented Perfomance Metrics"と呼ぶ。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: This paper proposes User-oriented Perfomance Metrics, UPM. UPM is a network perfomance metric user's point of view. UPM uses WWW service, the most frequenty used service of the Internet users. UPM is calculated from access time to multiple geographically distributed URLs. The changes of perfomance according to time and network topology are considered. UPM is based on data trasfer time of WWW pages, which is the most important parameter for evaluation of the network from user's point of view.
