When a user selects a word or a phrase on aWeb page using a pointing device such as a pen or a mouse, the proposed interface determines its meaning by semantic pattern analysis and provides a menu with a set of appropriate search methods to the user by intention understanding. If the user selects an adequate search method from this menu, the user is able to access required information relevant to the selected keyword. In this web search, the proposed interface adds extra keywords to the selected keyword according to the search method selected from the menu for accurate information retrieval.
