Reduction of the operating frequency of a communication bus generally contributes to lowering the cost of wire harness. This paper presents a design paradigm in which we optimize the length of a payload segment of a frame and slot multiplexing under hard real-time constraints so that we can minimize the operating frequency of the communication bus. We formulate the above design problem as a mathematical problem. We also apply simulated annealing (SA) to solving the design problem.
