The proposed method changes an intensity of Y color component only around contours of objects in an input image. This modification generates the Craik-O'Brien effect. It creates an optical illusion of contrast which increases visibility of dichromats, with preserving the color impression of input image. By employing the proposed method, the Craik-O'Brien effect can be generated without divider and multiplier; thus, it is efficient for hardware implementation.
