Unfortunately, current sensors force the user to align and hold the finger to a single sensor point, which degrades usability. To solve this problem, we propose a novel sensing method that relaxes the alignment requirement. The proposed method uses 2 thin acrylic plates, an emitting plate and a detection plate, as an IR waveguide. The proposed method can yield very thin curved sensors.
