Virtual machine technologies support hardware-independent application environments on the global IP network allowing a user's “system” to migrate as the user moves from place to place. However, replication of the users' data to all possible destinations is expensive while on demand fetching gives unsatisfactory performance. We propose a semantic data placement method based on the human behaviors specific to the users' network locations.
