Since it must remain a part of reliable vehicle systems even in heterogeneous and/or congested traffic situation, we have suggested an efficient method of group communication for interactivity assurance and platoon organization. We built an integrated simulator of roadway traffic and communication network in order to understand performance characteristics of the proposed method. In the paper, we describe that group communication enables vehicles to organize their cooperative platoons without causing wireless bandwidth saturation in dense highway traffic scenario. And we also confirmed that the size of platoons was diversified due to size limitation on merging, as we designed.
