Such media are free from some restricts of the face-to-face meeting, e.g. a rule of turn taking. However, it is actually difficult for a presenter to pay attention on the chat while he/she is presenting. He/she cannot discuss on important chat opinions in his/her presentation. In this paper, we propose a “cross-channel reply” (XCR) that allows the audience to reply the contents of the face-to-face meeting channel from the chat channel. By analyzing the XCRs, we attempt to automatically estimate the important chat opinions using J4.8 decision tree. We implement a novel chat system named “Chatplexer,” which is equipped with XCR function. We conducted user studies using Chatplexer.
