His work has been studied for three centuries, yet in spite of these efforts, there are some problems which remain to be answered. The aim of this research is to examine three hypotheses: (a)that Saikaku was the only author, (b)that there was a group of writers writing under that name, and (c)that works published after his death were rewritten by his followers. In this research, we analyze the frequency of main parts of speech and the frequency of some words of auxiliary verbs by means of a principal component analysis.},
