The paper indicates that EOG can be detected by electrodes attached on / around the ears, and eye-tracking without covering the user's face can be realized. Issues about increasing drift and mixture of horizontal and vertical elements of the gaze are solved by applying Kalman filter to many EOG signals from multiple pairs of electrodes. Two headphone prototypes (overhead-shaped and in-ear-shaped) and demo applications were developed.
