Most existing approaches to dynamic datarace detection target only threads. However, asynchronous interrupts (e.g., UNIX signals) are also a major source of dataraces for C. Our approach extends a technique proposed by J.D. Choi, et al. to handle both threads and interrupts. The main idea is to treat every asynchronous-interrupt handling as one-time execution of a pseudo thread. Despite the simplicity of the idea, however, this extension raises several challenging issues. We address these issues with a unique combination of dynamic analysis techniques.
