 note = {千葉県柏地域では、1997年より、柏市と柏インターネットユニオン(KIU)との相互協力によって地域教育ネットワークの展開が行われている。KIUはインターネットを教育に応用することを目標として発足した、ボランタリーベースの地域貢献型インターネットサービスプロバイダー(ISP)である。こうした活動を通して、我々は、主に教育用ネットワークのあり方について、実際のネットワーク構築と運用を通しての実践的な試みを行いながら検討してきた。KIUは、地域のISPであるが、その活動は単なる接続事業者ではなく、地域の情報化を支援する地域コミュニティ組織としての役割も果たしていると言える。本報告では、地域の情報化と地域ネットワークとの関係について、KIUとその活動を概略しながら事例報告する。, In the Kashiwa area, Chiba pref., we have been performed practical research about a regional educational internetworking with Kashiwa Internet Union (KIU) since 1997. KIU is a regional network for school-education network and one of the internet service provider (ISP) based on the volunteer activities. It made a start for the purpose of the educational use of the Internet. KIU is not only connection business organization though it is a area ISP. It has also a part as an area community organization which supports area computerization. In this paper, we report the outline of the activities of KIU and Kashiwa area. And we discuss about the relations between the area computerization and the regional network.},
