In particular, the spread of peer-to-peer file sharing applications raises concerns about copyrights. However, it is difficult to gather much information because files are not transmitted via a server. In this paper, we measure and analyze peer-to-peer file sharing applications, WinMX, Gnutella, and Winny by heuristic methods in order to clarify the scale of peer-to-peer file sharing and details of shared files.},
