 note = {This paper describes the Japanese Map Task Corpus project at Chiba University. The project aims to build a linguistically and acoustically reliable and cognitively significant corpus of dialogs conducted in Japanese. The basic design follows that of the Edinburgh map task corpus with respect to map and route designs and situational parameters such as familiarity and eye contact. The feature names are carefully selected to highlight linguisitcally and phonetically interesting phenomena in spontaneous oral discourses in Japanese. Enhancement is also made in recording non-verbal behavior of participants  including the recording of the drawing hand on the map.
