In order to realize high quality prosodic control, we implemented two statistical F0 contour control methods using categorical multiple regression, and then compared these methods through subjective evaluation experiments. Furthermore, to research what kind of F0 contour generation factors are effective for generating natural F0 contours, we investigated relationship between combination of factors and subjective quality. Experimental results show that the following factors are particularly important for the perception of F0 contours: tone patterns, kind of phonemes, number of mora, and pause length.
