To measure basic temporal controllability, musical students who play the piano in a intermediate level, tapped a board as equally as possible, and the temporal fluctuation of the tappings was analysed. It was suggested that the tappings were governed with a memory that preserved the previous 20 intervals of taps. Consequently, pianists in various levels, percussionists and non-musicians also made equal interval tappings.
