With the RWC Music Database (RWC-MDB), which has already been widely used, researchers can use copyright-cleared musical pieces for research. There has, however, been no large sound database that includes singing voices by many subjects who are not familiar with test pieces. The AIST-HDB was therefore built to record voices when each of 100 subjects sings 100 excerpts from 50 songs of the RWC-MDB after listening to each excerpt both once and five times.
