The authors extracted the durations of notes in each bar as a rhythmic pattern from each composer's database, and compared frequently used patterns. The result shows the differences of three composers' patterns. The authors extracted n-note melodic patterns (pitch transition patterns, n=3--7), and compared frequently used patterns. The result shows that the short melodic patterns (n=3) are common to three composers. It is also shown that the distribution and the transitions of notes on the musical scale are not uniform.
