• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本稿では、「過去帳」分析システムを構築して、被葬者の死亡地について検討した。「過去帳」分析システムは、「過去帳」データベース、「過去帳」分析プログラム、および検索利用マニュアルから構成されている。本システムには、約 3 万 1 千人の被葬者が登録されており、46 項目の人口学的指標を利用者側コンピュータにグラフ表示することができる。「過去帳」に戒名を付けて供養されている被葬者は、寺院周辺の在地で死亡した檀家の家族であると理解されている。しかし、武蔵国多摩郡下 10 ヵ寺の寺院「過去帳」を分析した結果、17 世紀初頭から 20 世紀初頭まで他所死亡者は被葬者総数の数％にのぼり、死亡地は関東、東海、北陸、近畿、四国、九州にわたっていたことが判明した。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: We have constructed a database system for analyzing the Japanese Buddhist temple death registers which are called Kako-Cho (KC). The system is composed of the database of the KC data, programs for outputting the statistics of mortality and the manual for users. The URL of this system is http://kawaguchi.tezukayama-u.ac.jp. We have stored up approximately 31 thousand deaths in 12 Buddhist temples. We can provide 46 kind of demographic statistics concerning with mortality. With this system, we have investigated the death places of the peasants in Tama County, Musashi Province. We find that not few peasants died in many places far from their home villages after the beginning of the 17th Century.
