We introduce a new method to get a 3D coordinate transformation (scaling, translation, and rotation) from an object model to image data. A candidate transformation is initially hypothesized by matching a few segments locally, and it is tested and adjusted with the rest of segments for verification. However, the search space for the initial quantitative match is very large even when recognizing a simple object.
