The developed board emploies the boundary tracking method and does not require a memory for initial labels, and thus it can process labels in 512 × 512 images without restricting the maximum numbers of connected components. It can also count holes within components at the same time of labeling, and is capable to set the minimum or maximum boundary length of the region to be labeled.
