By means of the importance degree of terms, extraction of important terms that reflect the contents of English contracts become possible. Next, an experiment to evaluate the effectiveness of the importance degree of terms is described. We made a list of important terms with the degrees from a collection of 35 kinds of articles of English contracts. Then we made an experiment to predict the article names of three kinds of contracts based on the list of important terms. As a result, the precision of 90 % was obtained.
