| 内容記述 | 結合価文法による日英機械翻訳において，結合価パターンの表す用語と格要素の意味的関係が、名詞と動詞の訳語選択に非常に有効であると考えられている．本研究では，動詞と名詞の訳語選択における，結合価文法の効果を定量的に検証する．評価対象は，IPAL辞書に登録されている基本動詞と基本名詞に関する対訳を（単文）とする．結合価文法を用いた翻訳システムにALT-J/Eを用いて翻訳し，その結果と対訳英文を比較したところ，基本動詞および基本名詞の正解率は，それぞれ89％および91％であった．また失敗例の解析から，パターンの拡充などにより動詞について約9-10％，名詞について約3％の精度向上が見込まれると推測される．よって動詞98-99％，名詞94％が結合価文法を用いた訳語選択の限界と推測される． | |||||||

| 内容記述 | The word selection is very difficult problem in Japanese to English machine translation. One of the way deciding the equivalent is using Valency Grammar. However the effectiveness is not inspected. This study evaluate the effectiveness of Valency Grammer with IPAL-dictionary's verbs and nouns. As the result, the accuracy of correct equivalent is 89% for verbs translation and 91% for nouns translation. Becouse of analysing failure examples, upper limit will be expected about 10% for verbs and about 5% for nouns. Therefore the limitation of the word selection using Valency Grammar is estimated 99% for verbs and 94% for nouns. | |||||||
