In this paper, the architecture of the integrated terrestrial and submarine network was investigated and the bed based on this concept was experimentally demonstrated. Various test items were successfully conducted such as path provisioning, path provisioning, path protection and so forth for SONET/SDH analyzer client signals as well as SDTV and HITV video signals. In addition, the protection switching initiated by the performance monitoring in submarine-line terminating equipment (S-LTE) was also firstly demonstrated.
