However, because of differences of the file systems used and the account management systems at each institute, it is not easy to integrate them. We introduced the SDSC Storage Resource Broker (SRB) that is a logical distributed file system to provide a uniform interface for connecting heterogeneous data storage resources and providing a single global logical namespace for simplification of data sharing.
