In a small-scale ad-hoc network, location-dependent information is also stored into a server node located around the center of the ad-hoc network for achieving responses for queries with averagely low communication overhead. However, in a large-scale ad-hoc network, especially in which mobile nodes are widely distributed with relatively lower density, with high mobility, keeping location-dependent information within a predetermined region and transmitting query messages with a location-based ad-hoc routing protocol achieves higher performance.
