• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 携帯電話のアドレス帳に登録された顔画像から似顔絵を作成し，顔文字に合わせて該当人物の似顔絵の表情を変化させながら電子メールの内容を読み上げるアプリケーションを試作した．本論文ではその詳細について報告する．予め多数のサンプル顔画像を用いて，目鼻口等の顔部品を構成する特徴点の形状と配置のそれぞれに関し，主成分分析により固有空間を求める．入力顔をこの固有空間上に直交展開し，得られた展開係数を操作して似顔絵の表現を変化させる．また，電子メール読み上げの際に，本文に出現した顔文字に合わせて似顔絵を変化させるために，携帯電話の電子メールで一般的に使用される顔文字140 種類を驚き喜び悲しみ等の基本表情と対応付ける．文字だけでは伝わらない感情を伝えることで円滑なコミュニケーションの促進を図る．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: This paper proposes a new E-mail system using facial caricature. This E-mail system displays facial caricature of sender person as well as sentences of received E-mail. The facial caricature changes its expressions according to face marks. Eigenspaces on shape and arrangement of facial parts, such as eyes, nose,mouse, and so forth, are calculated from feature points of sample face images by principal component analysis．A new input facial image is projected onto the eigen spaces and facial caricature changes its expressions adjusting the expansion coefficients on the eigenspace. In order to change facial expression according to face mark in E-mail, 140 general face marks are respectively fitted to basic facial expressions, such as surprise, angry,cry, and so forth．The proposed E-mail system encourages that facial caricatures transmit emotions which are difficult to be extracted from sentences and they also offer means of smooth communication.
