While it is very difficult to integrate the applications and they are not interoperable among different systems. In the area of computer graphics, though integration capabilities and interoperability are improved by the current international standardization efforts, Japanese text support is left un-standardized. This paper is intended to present the basis for discussions about Japanese text support in computer graphics standards.
