And this paper also proposes method for compression of spectral data without degradation of image quality. First we statistically analyze the spectral reflectance. Based on the result, the spectral reflectance is compressed for rendering of oil paintings without dropping image quality. Surface property of oil paintings is acquired as (1) surface shape, (2) spectral reflectance and (3) highlight property. Next, Property of estimated spectral reflectance is analyzed statistically. In this case, we examine property of the spectral reflectance by using singular value decomposition.
