Design support environments, for example , belong to this category. However, conventional file systems or database management systems are insufficient to deal with complex data. To meet this requirement, we are designing and implementing the persistent programming language PCOB, which is based on the object-Oriented programming language COB. In designing persistent languages, issues such as integrity control, query processing and view functions arise.
