Lemuria is a platform which is based on DSM for distributed parallel processing. Lemuria is different from conventional DSM and aims at utilizing DSM in wide area distributed environments. For this purpose, Lemuria is constructed on layered computer clusters, and adopts a new memory consistency protocol for those clusters.
