In order to utilize parallel systems and establish communication links beyond firewalls, we have built new mechanisms into the Globus system. In addition, we report on details of the firewall-compliant Globus system and performance evaluation of a wide-area cluster system. We have developed and run a tree-search problem using MPICH-G.
