However, mechanisms of processor core management are not prepared well, so application programming is complicated. I aimed at microkernel mechanism to exploit PPE and SPEs, the processor cores of Cell, effectively. In this study, I determined to port MINIX 3 from PowerPC to PLAYSTATION 3 which is game console equipped with Cell. I am also considering using SPEs not only for application programs, but for OS servers or device drivers.
